Our general grants submission period is open from February 1 to March 15, 2026.

The General  Grants program is open every winter and offers eligible applicants an opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 in funding for projects and initiative that benefit the community.

We’re accepting applications from February 1 to March 15, 2026. Applications must be submitted online through our website, using the form on this page.

In addition to aligning with at least one of our granting priority areas, applications should demonstrate the way(s) in which their project or initiative will:

  • Be suitable for the Benefiting Community

  • Have a meaningful impact and/or involvement for our community on a large group of local residents

  • Be sustainable and financially feasible

    Fort St. James Ski Club (Murray Ridge) - $5,000 - For updating ski and board rental stock at Murray Ridge.

    Fort St. James Music Makers - $5,000 - Fall performance season 2025. (Snotty Nose Rez Kids!)

    Fort St. James Public Library - $1,000 - Annual summer literacy program funding.

  • Autumn Services - $2,500 - Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Fort St. James (1 year)

    Fort St. James Curling Club - $2,000 - Towards cooler replacement at the curling rink

    FSJ Dog Sled Association - $1000 - Towards flagging and safety equipment for the Caledonia Classic

    Fort St. James Minor Hockey Association - $3,000 - For youth goalie gear to lower barriers to the position locally

    Stuart Lake Golf Club - $3,000 - New rental clubs for use at the Golf Course

    FSJ Falcons Speed Skating - $3,000 - Funds to lower the cost of a membership for skating in town with the club

  • Community Arts Council of Fort St. James: $2,500 - green space around the Arts Centre

    Fort St. James Curling Club: $3,000 – replacement range and deep fryer in the kitchen

    Fort St. James Public Library: $1,000 - Summer Reading Club

    Fort St. James Snowmobile Club: $2,900 –user-friendly and accessible trail updates

    Fort Trap and Hand Gun Club: $1,850 – PAL course support

    Nak’azdli Whu’ten: $3,000 - Indigenous youth attending the Gathering Our Voices conference

    Nak’al Bun Education Society: $2,500 - Indigenous-based books for school library

    Stuart Lake Nordic Society: $2,750 - purchase of an ATV snow plow

  • Manson Creek Historical Society: $3,000 -restoration of Maggie’s cabin

    School District 91: $2,000 for bursaries and $1,000 for Ambassador Grants

    Fort Trap and Hand Gun club: $1,500 -security cameras & upgrading of rifle range

    Fort St. James Curling Club: $2,500 -Automated External Defibrillator

    Fort St. James Sled Dog Association: $1,500 -communication equipment

    Fort St. James Snowmobile Club: $1,000 - stove or fridge for new clubhouse

    Fort St. James Community Arts Council: $2,000 - potter’s wheel for ceramic studio
