The Fort St. James Community Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of their 2017 Grants.
- Alix Rasmussen: Currently enrolled in a Medical Biochemistry Degree with a career goal to become a Pharmacist through the four year Pharmacy program at UBC. $1,000
- Stuart Lake Seniors Association: Grant funds will help support the transportation costs of the Seniors through use of their fourteen-passenger, wheel chair accessible bus. The program aims to address the isolation and barriers seniors can face in small, northern communities. $520.00
- Fort St. James Public Library: Provide a free literacy program, 2 days per week throughout the summer that is designed to engage children ages 5-14 with libraries and reading. This program is aimed at engaging readers of a young age and let them experience what the library has to offer. $1,480
- Stuart Lake Outreach Group: This group provides a free, hot, nutritious meal twice each week to the homeless, needy or lonely. They also provide nutritious food hampers once a month and in emergency situations to a client base of over 300 persons. $2,000
